Oliver is very into his independence these days. The most commonly heard phrase in our house is "MY DO". The caps represent how loud and confident he usually proclaims it.
Times we hear "My Do"--
- Getting dressed--"My do" when helping put on his shirt or pants
- Buckling the car seat--"My do"is usually accompanied by a finger point which means we can no longer stand by the door and help. Rather, we must close the door and let him do it himself
- Brushing and flossing teeth--"My do" is expressed and, again accompanied by his index finger pointing at you, he must floss and brush himself
- Cooking--"My do" can be heard when trying to crack eggs, stir things, or cut up his apples
It is great to see Oliver learning to do things himself. However, it takes 10 times as long to do anything!
