Oliver is now over 11 months old. Somehow I forgot to post his 10 month pistures and now I have let 11 months go sailing past as well! I will blame 90% of the lack of posts on Oliver himself! He hit 10 months and has not stopped moving, exploring, laughing, walking, talking, and keeping us all on our toes!
Walker
Oliver is an official walker. About 3 weeks ago he woke up and it was if he made some mental decision to never crawl again. He is very stable now and can even traverse inclines, slopes, and some small steps. His new found love of walking is used mainly for chasing Samuel around the house. If I could ever figure out how to post the videos you could see for yourself!
Chatterbox
Oliver still chats away as if we completely understand him. He continues to point at everything and babble away. Other than Uh-oh he doesn't have any real consistent words/sounds. He does say something that sounds kinda like "dog" whenever he sees a four-legged animal. This is rather strange since we have a kitty and have been working on "cat" for awhile now.
Vegetarian at heart?
We haven't been able to get Oliver to eat any meat products. We hid meat in different items and he somehow picks it out and throws it on the floor. Thinking about it, Oliver really doesn't eat much of anything. Last week he survived on blueberries and string cheese. All other food products ended up on the floor.
Other tidbits
- He is still nursing quite a bit. For some reason he finds nursing a humerous activity--he spends a lot of time giggling while he eplores my mouth, sticks his fingers up my nose, and chomps down with his newly aquired teeth. I out a stop to the chomping but can't seem to break the nose picking habits.
- Oliver has to have something in his mouth at all times. Oddly, he refuses a pacifier and prefers to wanders the house with random toys, large puzzle pieces, plastic lids, and other odd items in his mouth. It makes me fairly nervous but whenever I take something away he finds a new object.
- Open-mouth kisses are Oliver's specialty. Whenver we say "kisses" he opens his mouth, sticks out his tongue, and leans into whoever is close. He gets a huge kick out of touching his tongue to your face.
- Huge climbing desire. Whenever Oliver comes across a chair, the couch, our bed, the step stool (pretty much anything), he lifts his leg up and tries hard to pull himself up ontop. He currently can get on our bed by climbing on the mattress next to it. He got up on the step stool the other day.
- Sitting in boxes and baskets. The other day Oliver discovered he could climb inside his toy baskets. We find him just sitting inside the baskets playing.
