Oliver at 9 Months

Ok, so Oliver is technically 9 months and 2 weeks which puts him closer to 10 months. But, things have been busy here so I haven't had a chance to write an update.

Weight: 17 lbs 13 oz

Here are some Oliver updates--

VERY mobile! He has been doing the funnies scoot/crawl thing for awhile. Lately he has really mastered it and, when excited, can move quite fast. He loves to head down the hallway and find an open door. His most recent favorite adventure is to the bathroom where the bath toys are accessible.

Standing & Balancing. Oliver can pull himself up on almost anything. He moves back and forth along the couch, along the bed, and all around the toy boxes. Recently he has started to let go and grab for another surface. This generally results in Oliver on the floor. But, he isn't slowed down by the tumble. He's back up and trying again. We recently got out the ride-along toy. He pulled himself up and started walking all over the room!

One of his favorite things is the dishwasher. He can hear me open the dishwasher from far away. As soon as I open it, he scoots his way over, unloads, and tries to climb in.

Eating ONLY finger foods. Oliver has officially given up pureed foods (not that he ever really ate them). He will occasionally eat yogurt or chunks off a spoon (which he must control). Favorite foods: string cheese, carrot slices, peas, toast with hummus, tofu, pears, and pasta.

Points at everything. A few weeks ago Oliver woke up and started pointing at everything. It is usually accompanied by some sort of chatter that sounds a lot like "that". When he points his finger at people, the most common response is "E.T. phone home"!

Talking like crazy. Oliver clearly has things to say. In the last few weeks his talk has changed from random babble to more clearly expressed thoughts. He will look at something, usually point, and then go on and on as if we should know exactly what he is saying.
