Oliver is such a funny guy. He really does make us laugh multiple times a day. Here are a few random Oliver moments:
- Oliver must take his shoes and socks off during all car trips. Almost immediately after I buckle my seat belt I hear him say "shooooeee" followed by a quick "ooocccckk". By the time we get out of the driveway he has his shoes and socks off! This is repeated at every stop.
- New addition to his vocabulary: Mamuel (Samuel)
- Thinks the word "no" is hysterically funny. Apparently the stronger you say "no" the funnier it becomes. We use "stop" almost exclusively.
- His best friend (beside Mamuel) is the kitty. He hugs, kisses, and talks to the cat as if they are best buds. Kitty takes the "love" quite well. Occasionally we'll try to give the kitty space but she just heads right back to Oliver.
- Has added chicken and hamburger to his previous vegetarian palate.
- Tries to put almost everything down the heater vents. We have about $20 in change, multiple pens and markers, all the scrabble letters, and other random things just waiting for someone to fish out.
- Insists on having 2 of every item (one for each hand). He can't eat an apple with just one piece--must have one for each hand. Can't have just one spoon--must have one for each hand.
- We have to be careful not to introduce new food items (or any distractions) when Oliver is eating. If he is chewing on an apple when we open the blueberries, he'll promptly take out the half chewed apple in order to make room for the blueberry. Even the verbal mention of another item usually results in the currently chewed item being spit out.
- Is a huge chatterbox. While Samuel talks our ear off now, he didn't say a peep when he was 20 months old. Oliver, on the other hand, has to have a running commentary going at all times. He will chat away with himself about everything.
