We had to do some quick rearranging of schedules so were scheduled to celebrate Claasssen Christmas the weekend prior. Unfortunately, Samuel woke up the day we were to leave with a 103 fever! We hunkered down at home for the day hoping (a) he would get over it quicky and (b) nobody else would catch it! Unfortunately, he didn't get over it quickly and we all caught it!
G&G Claassen were nice enough (or crazy enough) to let us come over with a sick kid and celebrate Christmas. Samuel had stopped spiking fevers but was clearly under-the-weather. Despite the illness situation, we did enjoy a mini-celebration with G&G Claassen and GGHarvins.
Upon leaving the Claassen's, it was clear that I was the next to fall victim to the illness. G&G Badgett met us at our house Christmas Eve day and helped entertain the boys while I attempted to ignore the increasing aches and pains.
Kevin came home in the afternoon and we celebrated with some appetizers (yummy despite a cold!), dinner and then Baby Jesus birthday cupcakes. The boys opened their traditional Christmas Eve gift (pajamas) and then were off to bed. Well, off to lay in bed. Neither one fell asleep until close to 10PM! Yikes.
By 10PM I could barely think straight as my cold had taken over. We still had to "finish Christmas" which consisted of actually starting to wrap presents. I think we finished somewhere close to the midnight mark.
Christmas morning (and day!) was a complete blur. The boys got up early and had opened all their gifts by mid-morning. In the afternoon we joined the Ostranders for a Badgett/Ostrander/Claassen Christmas. I might have been in charge of photos--and there are none except for my 3-year old opening a present that was a box of matches!
